Lingualink Online – Policies
At Lingualink Online, we believe in transparency, professionalism, and building trust. These policies ensure a smooth and respectful experience for both students and teachers.
- Booking & Payment Policy
- All classes must be paid for in advance.
- Packages are non-transferable and expire after 12 months. You can use your credits anytime within that period.
- Payment is accepted via bank transfer or approved online methods.
- Once payment is received, your schedule will be confirmed.
- Cancellation & Rescheduling
- Students must provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a class.
- If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, the class will be marked as completed and deducted from your package.
- Teachers will wait 20 minutes for a student to join the class. If the student does not show up within this time, the class will be considered completed and charged.
- During this waiting time, the teacher will make reasonable attempts to contact the student before ending the session.
- Punctuality & Lesson Duration
- Each class lasts 55 minutes, allowing the teacher 5 minutes to:
– Update your class report
– Send your homework
– Plan your follow-up lesson - Please arrive on time. Missed time due to late arrival cannot be made up unless previously agreed.
- Class Reports & Homework
- After each class, students receive a short report from their teacher that includes:
– What was covered
– Attendance
– Feedback
– Homework (if applicable)
- Teacher Commitment
- Our teachers are fully committed to your progress. They prepare for each class, tailor lessons to your needs, and are here to support you.
- If your teacher cannot attend a scheduled class, you will be informed in advance and offered a reschedule or substitute.
- Communication
- For help with scheduling, payments, or any other enquiries, if you are a student, contact us at support@lingualinkonline.com or use the contact form if you are signing up.
- We aim to respond to all queries within 48 business hours.
- Gift Packages
- Want to give someone the gift of learning?
- We’d love to help! Just contact us, and we’ll arrange a personalised package for your friend, colleague, or loved one.
- Privacy & Data Protection
- Your personal information is kept secure and never shared with third parties.
- Classes are not recorded unless specifically requested and agreed upon in writing.
- Refunds & Class Credits
- Refunds are available within 14 days of purchase, provided no classes have been booked or taken.
- After 14 days, or if a class has been used or booked, no refunds will be granted.
- Unused credits are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
- Technical Issues & Connectivity
- If a class is disrupted due to technical issues on the student’s side, it will be considered completed.
- If issues arise on the teacher’s side, the class will be rescheduled at no additional cost.
- Attendance & Participation
- Regular attendance and active participation are vital for progress.
- If a student misses three consecutive classes without prior notice, their account may be temporarily suspended until contact is re-established.
- Code of Conduct
- Students are expected to behave respectfully and professionally in all interactions.
- Any form of harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behaviour may lead to suspension or termination of services.
- Course Materials & Intellectual Property
- All lesson materials are for personal use only.
- Reproduction, distribution, or sharing without permission is strictly prohibited.
- Public Holidays & Scheduling
- Lingualink Online does not operate officially on South African public holidays.
However, as our teachers are freelancers, some may choose to offer classes on these days. - Affected classes will be rescheduled or adjusted in advance by mutual agreement between the student and the teacher.
- Age Requirements
- Students must be 16 years or older to register independently.
- For students under 16, a parent or legal guardian must provide written consent and manage the account.
